Paul Diersen's 1975 Moto-Ski Sonic 340 TS
Here are the "before" pictures of Paul's latest aquisition. There were only 500 of this sled produced and this sled has serial number 361. These photos, taken by Paul, show the sled's condition when he took posession in May of 2001. The seat, with its duct tape upholstery, was one of the first items to be restored.
The sled came from Valley City, North Dakota, where it has been stored for 12 years after what was probably a pretty rough service life. Paul aquired a large amount of miscellanious parts along with the sled, and many will be for sale. I'm not sure what he's got yet, but I'll post what I can.
Although in rough shape, the Sonic is complete. The windsheild is not correct and was promptly removed. The TS, like most sleds in its class, did not come with one.
As you can see here, Paul wasted no time tearing the sled down. The engine was disassembled in short order and the chassis was thoroughly cleaned up.
Here the engine is shown going back together on Paul's bench.
Here is a picture of the sled after Paul installed the new hood.
Paul also installed a new seat.
The new seat looks pretty good.
Just about done.
All ready to go!
This has become a very nice looking Sled.
Looks good enough to ride!
Two show-stoppers!
