Ever since my first class in figure study, when my instructor introduced vine charcoal to me, I have never stopped using it. Charcoal creates a rich black without the glare of graphite. It blends perfectly with indian ink and creates the perfect varied line. Basically, I stopped using graphite all together after discovering charcoal. For the most part, the following drawings were either executed during my figure drawing classes or through experimentation. | Drawings | Graphite | Mixed Media | Pastel | |
