Crowd A Short Fuse!

Sunday nights' fireworks show in Clark's Harbour received plenty of criticism as most of the explosions were lost in fog "you could cut with a knife". The higher bursts of light revealed little more than a vague tint of color, while lower ones were admirable but still far from awe-inspiring. The site of future shows is already being debated, and Crowell's store in Barrington promises to stock the king of fireworks, the "Whistlin' Willy", for anyone wishing to host their own show next year.

Follow the Fun!
There were no shortages of party destinations last Saturday, with Hard 2 Handle electrifying Tompa's, Oak Park hosting a mud wrestling extravagaza, and the Trailer Park offering several smaller gatherings. During the excitement, most forgot about the pajama party, with only one Hawker and a "guest" showing up.
The Hawk Road's loyal four-legged companion, Penny, became confused on Monday and left the home she was visiting to pursue Bubble Gum and his new pup as they strolled by her driveway. The German shephard and bulldog cross was later returned, and when asked if Penny surprised him by joining his walk, Bubble Gum replied, "Yeah. I didn't think she'd be able to keep up." The Hawk Road thanks him for his effort.

Lightning Quick!
Mother Nature offered some fireworks of her own last week when a vicious lightning storm blanketed island and mainland residents. The Hawk was particularly hit, the frequent blasts zapping many houses and blowing out dozens of household devices. While Shawn Sears was spared an instant perm as he started the tankhouse generators, many PCs on The Hawk weren't so lucky. Computer doctor Alex Jones had a busy weekend repairing damaged systems, and is now called The Thunder by grateful customers.
