link to the right, and you can subscribe to my site!
This link, feed://homepage.mac.com/hall/Greg_Hall_Fast_Facts.xml

iTunes, and under the Advanced menu, select "Subscribe to Podcast" and
paste it in. I show up in iTunes Podcast, and I can then
automatically update these in the future!
This site is "Everything
Podcasting", and is created and maintained by Apple SEs. It's
hosted on XServers at Harvard. This PDF is on how to create a Podcast, and this one on how to host a Podcast on your own
server. Apple even has an Educational iPod Podcast site!
:-)
Here's a great
site for Video Podcasting in a school: http://www.dearbornschools.org/videocast/.
This article
has iPods in the classroom. This one is for the Education Podcast Network and I think
it's a great example of what educators are doing with our technology.
It's organized by grade, subject and even has a section on "The what, why, and how of 21st century
teaching & learning". Need Podcasting in a Classroom
environment? Check out this French
Class.
The tool that I am showcasing this month is Podcast
Maker. Check here if you need directions on hosting
a Podcast. Another site with many
links to tools (for PCs).
This is the site for Stanford's
iTunes Music
store. This site has a copyright decision
map.
Here is a link for free Podcast story
books,
a link to an adventure story, "Pirate
Jack", audio books that are part of the Project Guttenberg Public Domain,
read by 'Humans' or Computer.
Need a video to play on your iPod? Here's a video
created using iMovie for a 9th grade French Class. (Yes, it has
Llamas in it :-)
This is a link to the notes on my Fast Facts meetings. This one covered QuickTime
Broadcasting and creating chapter
bookmarks in a Podcast.
Here are some links to great iLife
training and classroom materials. (These links were provided
by an Apple Trainer. so you have to know these are well thought out :-)
WWDC notes

Wide Developer's Conference? Read about it HERE

Macintosh
Manager:
John
DeTroye has the ""UnOfficial" Official MacManager site at http:homepage.mac.com/johnd If you haven't
been there, you need to download all his pdf files and read them. Lots
of excellent information on setting up MacManager.
The
folks at MacMgr.com have a great site
too. You can SEARCH all of the list servers email lists.
Adding
tons of new users to these servers? Then you need to use PASSENGER to import all
your users into your AppleShare 6.x and OS X server.
Software Links:
Keep your software up-to-date: Versiontracker
Corey Carson from Apple has a great site, and if you need
info on all the new products, just check out his site. (Why duplicate
perfectly good info? :-)
Looking for an Internet Browser that doesn't take a G5 and a Gig of Ram
to run? Check out iCab. It even runs on
older systems (like 68020 and higher), and "only" needs 4 Megs of Ram.
QuickTime Example Sites:
BYU QT site (What is
QuickTime?) Also some great samples of QuickTime in Education.
George Cook is Apple's CE
dedicated to Interactive QuickTime. Of course, his site is a
little different :-) |
