Update-o-ramaOr, Baby's comin' back.
First, I was going to do more auto abstracts, but
iBlog sucks, and I really should just bite the bullet and migrate over to
Blogspot, where all of the cool kids are. It is a technical thing with iBlog,
but I think that, while my subtitles can be cute, that I should really adhere
more closely to blog standards. But, it's not working how I want it to. Hmmm.
Something to consider.
Second, and speaking of blog standards, I've really slacked during September, haven't I? Sheesh. It says here that my last post was some three weeks ago. Well, update-o-rama. ⁃
My birthday happened. Dumb birthday, 34. It was fun
though. We went to see Airport at the Colonial Theatre, and that was incredibly cool.
Then, we went to dinner in Philly and drank good Dad wine and ate good food. So,
that was a good birthday.

Then the next weekend we went down to Williamsburg
to burn some timeshare points (we have some good pics from there I'll post at
some point). We rode coasters at Busch Gardens and saw tigers with big paws (I
like big paws, in case you didn't know this; also, there is a certain way that
Rick and I saw "big paws"--you'll have to ask us to use it sometime. There are
also some hand gestures.). That was fun. Oh, and, hello, you can drink beer so
that was good. We did some excellent outlet shopping (I'm convinced that Fossil
outlets are the best out there. We got some truly cool portable bar ware.) Also,
Williamsburg has a fetish for pancake and waffle houses: it's awesome, but also
a bit strange. Anyway, I'm not arguing. We did the colonial thing for a bit,
but, really, a bit can go a long way. I did have fun in the post office (or ye
olde post office or whatever it was called) and got a cool reprint of a printing
press test sheet (i.e. font-o-rama) and saw a reprint of "A Pretty Story," which
I wrote a published companion entry on. So, that was cool. Not cool?
Traffic in VA. Jesus. Oh, and Jenn was supposed to meet us, but she was puke-y;
however, we did see (mainly) Dave and Yorgos, so that was most
excellent.
⁃
Saw Zero 7; that will have to be reviewed at some
point to do it justice. If they are near you, go see them. So
good.

Work is getting a bit crazy: Rhodes apps are due
Monday and we have three amazing candidates. So, lots of drafts and such. Also,
Javits, Fulbright, and Watson
are all looming. Ack. Break soon.
So, yeah. Phillies are hanging in, and that has been fun (we went to a game with free rally towels! so much fun!), but they will probably choke and then I don't know who I will root for: probably the Tigers. Finally, if we lose this election, I'm seriously going to really think about moving, because it will just prove that America just has lost its ever-loving mind. Oh, finally #2: new shows I'm watching/tivoing but have not gotten to yet--Amazing Race (dur), Ugly Betty, Heroes, Brothers & Sisters, Studio 60, Six Degrees (these two are tivo'd but not watched because Rick doesn't want to watch them and I haven't had time to watch them without him around). Starting this week is The 9. Lots to watch, but I think I can manage. Posted: Fri - September 29, 2006 at 11:22 PM | |
