Happy Humpday: The Random Ten

It's aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

Ah, what the hell--let's knock this one out before I leave.

1. "Soul Free," George Michael, Listen without Prejudice, vol. 1: Whatever happened to the other volumes? I was perfectly willing to listen sans prejudice even more. And dude...can you stay out of trouble please?
2. "Deixa," Cibelle, Cibelle: mellow electronica + Latin flavor = nice music
3. "Now She Knows She's Wrong," Jellyfish, Jellyfish: not one of their amazing songs, but still quite nice.
4. "Face to Face," Daft Punk, Discovery: Daft Punk has moments of greatness, but this ain't one of them. I think in the age of the iTunes music store, I won't be buying complete albums anymore.
5. "Heat Miser," Massive Attack, Protection: OK, it's no "Protection" (link is to the video, an amazing one-shot creation by Michel Gondry), one of my top 10 songs of all time, but it's an interesting instrumental. This seems to be the 3 star shuffle today. . .
6. "Warning Sign," Coldplay, A Rush of Blood to the Head: . . . and actually this is the only song above 3 stars with 4, and I may have been generous with that one. Like most of their songs, it's really all about the chorus. Is there a lifetime achievement award for great choruses, because these guys may win. They also have great bridges. A whole song? Sometimes...
7. "Groove On," Roni Size, Return to V: meh on this song...not really anything special. You have to wonder about musicians sometimes: do they really think everything they put on an album is good?
8. "Old Joe's Place," The Folksmen, A Mighty Wind: "E A O's" Tee hee.
9. "Love Ghetto," Neneh Cherry, Raw Like Sushi: This is a good song, actually. Nice lyrics and good chorus.
10. "Head Over Heels," The Go-Go's, Greatest Hits: Really quite a good song.
