Sly Fox Brewhouse & EaterySly Fox Brewhouse & Eatery, Pikeland Village
Square (Rte 113, S of Rte 23), Phoenixville, PA, (610) 935-4540
We actually wanted to go to the Thai place in
Phoenixville, but it was a bit more pricey than what we wanted, so we decided to
go to Sly
Fox. We had been once before, and hadn't had a bad experience.
We were seated quickly with a view of a TV (the Phillies were playing). I had the Black Raspberry Wheat, assuming it would be like many raspberry wheats--more wheat than raspberry. Instead, this was more like a Belgian framboise. Still good, but not exactly what I was expecting. As is our wont, we ordered nachos and I ordered the Caesar salad, one of the few vegetarian options here. The nachos were decent--multicolored chips with plenty of sour cream and guac--but suffered a bit from being drenched in cheese sauce, rather than real melted cheese. It wasn't bad though really. The Caesar was plentiful, but strangely dry. Usually Caesars are dripping in the dressing, but this one had hardly any. It was decent, but again, not really what I was expecting. Rick had their Yucatan chicken wrap, which he said was good enough...a little dry, but fine. We ended the evening playing a little trivia and getting some high scores. Sly Fox has been around for a while, and while it seems friendly and decent, it doesn't really knock my socks off with the beer, food, or value. Posted: Mon - August 2, 2004 at 12:04 PM | |
