Practice 11/2/04

What a beautiful night for ultimate. After warming up with the triangle drill, we split up and worked on endzone offense (pg. ). We still need to improve on cuts form the back of the stack in endzone offense. Running was done for failed end zone attempts, since it's no good to turn it at the endzone. We did the one on one defense drill with scoring. Hopefully that drill help you get a better feel for when you have an advantage on offense, and on defense what you need to do to stop an in cut. After that, we broke up into two groups. One group did the most dangerous man drill, which simulates what a receiver should do after he dumps the disc. The half did the plinko drill, which I hope was fun. After that we scrimmaged, game to 7. We are not getting enough cuts from the back of the stack. Part of this is because people want to know which side to cut on before they cut. Don't worry about that, because it does not matter. Just pick a side an cut. The best cuts are the ones set of for the next thrower, not the guy who current has the disc. Get out of the habit of cutting for the current thrower, and get into the habit of making good hard cuts when it is your turn to. It's the handlers' job to get the disc to good cuts.
