Practice 9/14/04

The more I think about tonight's practice, the more excited I am about the upcoming season. I saw a number of promising rookies, and I really saw the second year players step it up today. Keep up the good work. In practice we went of the the dump cut for the middle of the field and side line. Not so many of you will be forced to play the dump position, but everyone is expected to know how to throw to the dump. Quick horizontal movement of the disc when flow breaks down is a key aspect of our stack offense. Also I discussed a little of the basic philosophy of the Rutgers stack offense: vertical cuts by receivers, and horizontal cuts by handers. The handlers have the front of the stack area to work with, while the receivers have the area behind that to work with.

Drills:
Comeback drill
Middle of the field dump drill
Sideline dump drill
Flow drill
Goto Drill with Throws

We managed to get some scrimmaging in at the end to.

Remember the most important thing you can do is throw outside of practice. Challenge yourself to improve you throws.

Special props go to Tim Edmunds, Raj, and Justin for coming to workout before practice. Nice job guys.
