Playbook Session 2
We covered the sideline and middle of the field
dump set. After dumping the disc from the sideline the thrower should move into
a position to make another cut. For handers, this means moving horizontally to
the middle of the field to either continue into the far side flat or break back
into the flat you just left. For receivers this means cutting up field so that
you can cut deep to the far side back cone or plant and come back in the lane
you are in.
In this session we also
talked about flow. Flow is a delicate balance of disc movement and receiver
moment. The more disc movement, the easier it is for receivers get open. Lack
of disc movement make allows the defense to adjust and clamp down, making it
harder for the receivers to get open, and they cut less as a result. Handlers
must move the disc quickly and receivers must keep cutting to create good
flow.
