I took these pictures with the camera on my phone, so the quality isn't the best...
1. A shot from one of the games in Friday's 500 point constructed tournament. I don't remember who was playing in this skirmish.
2. From Friday's 200 point Archfiends Sealed Tournament. That's Fenris on the left side in the nearest skirmish, Derry (in the collared shirt) on the left side in the third-nearest skirmish, and Gragon (in the vertical striped shirt) one skirmish further down.
3. Also from Friday's 200 point Archfiends Sealed Tournament. I think the nearest player is Pendleton.
4. Players listening to the results of Open Qualifier Tournament. Judge, organizer, and all-around good guy Chris Tulach is on the microphone. The second person from the right (you can just see his head) is ManoVega. Shinobi is toward the left, wearing the baseball cap.
5. More players listening to the results of Friday's Open Qualifier Tournament.
6. Greg and Michelle running the league sign-up and reporting counter. After every league game, each player got a random miniature from the front of one of the rows of miniatures on the counter.
7. The legendary Kilted Fomorian made by one of the players and given to Rob Heinsoo. (I got one too -- woo!) That's Rob holding the Fomorian. My phone takes blurry pictures, sorry. See further below for some better pictures of the one I received.
8. A shot from the stage/booth looking at the left side of our minis area. In the center, that's Rob Heinsoo (black shirt) talking to Peter Lee (striped judge's shirt).
9. A shot from the stage/booth looking at the middle part of our minis area. Blurry phone camera.
10. A shot from the stage/booth looking at the rightmost part of our minis area. We used all of the tables with the red tablecloths. In the foreground, eager league players find out which random minis they've won.
11. Another shot from the stage/booth. I think that's Bshugg standing in front on the left. Mike Donais is in front on the right.
12. Another shot from the stage/booth. I think that shot was from Friday, because we still had two results banners standing up nearby. We moved one of them to the back of the room on Saturday.
13. A random shot of the minis area. Probably just before a tournament started. Lalato rests his head on his hand in the foreground.
14. Another shot of the minis area. This was definitely from Saturday, since we hadn't added another row of tables yet. They would have been on the left side of the picture. This would have been just before the Archfiends sealed tournament.
15. Yet another shot of the minis area. Probably from just before a tournament started.
16. Pairings in round 1 of the Championship. (I walked clockwise around the three long tables taking pictures at each end.) In the nearest game, that's Derry on the left and Smyrin on the right. I'm embarrassed that I can't remember the name of the player just beyond Smyrin; I talked to him quite a bit.
17. More pairings in round 1 of the Championship. That's PatEllis on the left in the nearest game. Mike Donais and Chris Tulach (in a judge's shirt) are standing just a bit further down. That's Peter Lee on the far left, also in a judge's shirt.
18. More pairings in round 1 of the Championship. Apteryx (winner of the Gainesville Qualifier) is the nearest player on the right. Rob Heinsoo is in the black shirt leaning over a match a bit further down. The judge in the hat in the background is Mark Smith, my roommate at the con, and the organizer of Gen Con UK.
19. More pairings in round 1 of the Championship. Gragon (on the left) plays against Tamiz, a player from my local Bay Area group.
20. More pairings in round 1 of the Championship. Again, I have the nearest players' real names, but not their message board IDs.
21. More pairings in round 1 of the Championship. Jesse (a semifinalist) is on the right in the nearest game. He played a CG warband with Evermeets and Graycloaks; the only non-CE warband to make the finals. ManoVega is just beyond him in the yellow shirt.
22. Pairings in round 2 of the Championship. Apteryx is the nearest player on the left. I forget the player on the right's message board ID.
23. More pairings in round 2 of the Championship. Pat Ellis is the nearest player on the left; he played at the same table in both of the first two rounds. That's a blurry Mike Donais standing and watching the game just beyond. I had a tendency to take blurry pictures of Mike.
24. More pairings in round 2 of the Championship. Shinobi (wearing a baseball cap) is on the right side of the second match from the front. Mike Donais is standing and watching on the right.
25. More pairings in round 2 of the Championship. That's Dagni on the right and Derry just beyond him.
26. More pairings in round 2 of the Championship. Areisan is the player on the left. He won third place in Sunday's league by getting at least a dozen points in losses. I'm sure he also left the conference with upwards of 28 Drow Rogues :)
27. More pairings in round 2 of the Championship. ManoVega is on the left, and his opponent is the creator of the Prom Night Storm Giant and the Kilted Fomorian. In the game just beyond, Bshugg (left) plays Smyrin (right). Greg is the judge in the striped shirt standing on the left.
28. From one of the matches in either the Championship or the Qualifier -- I forget which. Thanks to Cleave, a Fire Giant plays baseball with the opposing LG warband.
29. Championship Quarterfinals. Alex (left) plays doubtofbuddha (right). Alex would win this match. Mike Donais and Dagni are just beyond them on the right.
30. Championship Quarterfinals. Bshugg (left) plays Kiddoc (right). Kiddoc would win this match. I'm getting a kick-back from Subway. Eat Fresh. (No kick-back from Coke, though; that's why the label is turned away.)
31. Championship Quarterfinals. TheDarkKnight (left) plays Fenris (right). TheDarkKnight would win this match. Rob Heinsoo (black shirt) and Derry (white shirt) are just beyond them.
32. Championship Quarterfinals. Jesse (left) plays ManoVega (right). They had just played each other in the last swiss round, with ManoVega winning. Jesse would win this time, though.
33. The 2004 Champion! From left to right: Rob Heinsoo, Kiddoc, Mike Donais.
34. "Leaky" Rob Watkins (lead designer for Star Wars Miniatures, left) plays Tamiz in a league game. (League play was such a good deal that even the WotC folks couldn't resist.) Rob had a Gauth and blew Tamiz out of the water. Mike Donais shows off his new t-shirt. I'd tell you what it says, but I don't want to get him in trouble. The shirt was so popular, that the dealer sold out of them and had to start a mailing list.
35. The Prom Night Storm Giant watches over her owner's skirmish in the Championships. She wears a custom pink dress which perfectly complements her greatsword.
36. Peter Lee's custom Purple Worm miniature. He painted and sculpted it. Peter is an amazing sculpter and painter!
37. Mike Donais (left) and Peter Lee (judge's shirt) talk to another player whose name I forget.
38. Thanks to Dagni and Tried, here is a situation that proves line of sight isn't just corner to corner. It's impossible to trace a line from a corner in the square containing the green marker (on the plain battle grid) to a corner in the square containing the yellow marker (just inside the door of the statue room), but those markers do still have line of sight to one another because it's possible to trace a line between non-corner parts of those squares.
39. Another similar situation. The Orc Druid (top) has line of sight to the Half-Orc Fighter (in the treasure room) despite the fact that you can't trace an unblocked line from one square's corner to the other's.
40. A friend from work is in the market for good poker chips. It's a good price, but not the quality of chips he was looking for.
41. These are better chips, but still not quite what my friend was looking for.
42. Drool. Lego and Pirates. Drool. A shot of the shipyard for Evil Stevie's Pirate Game.
43. Too bad this shot was blurry. There are about a dozen islands or forts on the floor for Evil Stevie's Pirate Game.
44. A big fortress (probably one of the home bases) for Evil Stevie's Pirate Game.
45. This is a shot of the Kilted Fomorian I received from Pendleton. I took this at work after I returned from Gen Con.
46. The back of the Kilted Fomorian.
