As well
as working in print media
there's a chance you'll have heard me on radio or seen me
on TV in the following places:
- BBC
News Channel: Reviewing the papers,
see the clip on the homepage of this
website.
- BBC
London Late Show: Monthly technology slot
on the show hosted by the excellent Jumoke
Fashola.
- BBC
London Radio Breakfast Show: Hosted by Jo Good and
Baylen Leonard, who then left to make way for Max Rushden
and subsequently Paul Ross, I made my debut talking about
gadgets in late 2006 and have appeared a few times since,
most recently in April 09. Delighted to be appearing on
one of my favourite shows
- BBC
World Service "Digital Planet" - I made my debut on
this show in early 2007 and have followed this up with
semi-regular appearances as a reporter.
- Woman's
Hour: In August 2006 I made an
appearance talking about freelancing, work/life balance
and related matters. You can listen to the piece by
clicking here.
- Guardian
Podcasts: In June 2006 I started
podcasting for the Guardian under the Business Sense
brand (to match the supplement for which I write). You
can listen to the podcasts here
- BBC
Webwise: In 2002 I took part in a
couple of TV programmes as an 'expert' panellist
alongside industry specialists on electronic business,
which were broadcast on BBC2. The objective was to
educate businesses, particularlly smaller traders, on the
benefits of trading electronically (which doesn't always
mean taking cash over the Internet).
- Sky
Television: For two or three years I
was one of the regular panellists on DotTV (formerly the
Computer Channel, part of the Sky network) which had a
programme called 'Chips With Everything' - I was
essentially one of a regular band of agony uncles and
aunts, actually mostly uncles, who'd help viewers with
their IT angst. Broadcast five times a week this was
probably the most successful of .TV's programmes, but
hey, I would say that...
- Open
University: No I didn't have to grow
the sideburns and yes I've heard all those gags before.
Nevertheless in 2002 I recorded an audio interview as an
expert in Bluetooth technology which was pretty new at
the time!
