Cop-a-Technique

Cop an attitude by applying the time proven techniques of all the great bluesmen. Slurs, such as note bending, slides, pull-offs and hammer-ons, have been a hallmark of the blues. The blues slurs usually involve "flatting" the major 3rd, 5th or 7th (E, G, and B) to the b3rd, b5th, and b7th (Eb, Gb, and Bb in the key of C) and then bending, sliding or hammering back up to the major (a pull-off can start major, then goes minor). All the various non-normal ways of getting from major to minor notes, or visa versa, are called slurs. Slurs make the blues the most expressive guitar genre and today rock and jazz have incorporated blues slurs too.
