Aetiology
- extrahepatic or intrahepatic
- intrahepatic adenocarcinomas arising from the bile ducts account for approximately 10% of primary tumours. These are not associated with HBV or cirrhosis; they are associated with Clonorchis sinensis or Opisthorchis viverrini infestations

Presentation
- similar to primary HCC
- jaundice is frequent with hilar tumours
