Here you can expand your knowledge about Guimzas – little known, but very cultured civilization of distant relatives of ordinary domestic mice.

Some scientists describe Guimzas as small pink or lilac animals, probably mammals, probably even rodents, who have big round ears and small tails. Those scientists will be absolutely right, if they only note the fact that Guimzas are highly intelligent, that they have their own language, folklore, and very unique and interesting culture.

We don't know when exactly first information about Guimzas reached the human beings. We incline to the theory that it was a very long time ago. Because of their appearance Giumzas can even be confused with ordinary mice. In fact, this was exactly what happened when the original black and white pictures of Guimzas were discovered in the old monastery books (Fig. 1). As a result, all the wonderful and truthful stories about Guimzas were initially dismissed as folk tales. Only after a very rare gobelin (Fig. 2) was brought to Europe from Tibet by an Indian merchant, it became clear that Guimzas are strikingly different from Mus musculus.

Guimzas’ natural habitat is Dolina Guimz (The Valley Of The Guimzas), which is hidden somewhere in the most unexplored part of the Himalayan Mountains. For centuries Guimzas never left The Valley, reasonably suspecting that there is nothing good for them in the outside world. And who can blame them for it... However recently, to a large surprise of the society of Guimzas’ scholars, it was found that somehow two Guimzas appeared at the very middle of human civilization – NY and Moscow, of all places! Why or when they left Dolina Guimz is a big mystery. Since a few previous expeditions to Himalayas in search of Guimzas’ civilization have not returned yet (there are mixed rumors that they were either eaten by unfriendly Guimzas or were adopted and are now kept as pets by friendly Guimzas), those two Guimzas, especially the one living in NY, remain our sole source of reliable information.

We can speak about Guimzas’ civilization because Guimzas have a highly developed intellect. So they simply must have a civilization! However, Guimzas don’t have nuclear technologies or chemical industry (or any industry at all except a few breweries), or all those sort of things, that made everyone of us proud to be a civilized human being. According to our source of information Guimzas live in harmony with nature. And the blessed climate of Dolina Guimz helps them in it. Guimzas gather fruits, berries, nuts and vegetables, catch fish and shrimps in their underground lakes through tiny holes in the ground, brew excellent beer using hops that grow in the valley, and live happily. We know that Guimzas love jewelry (especially silver) and various small fine things, so it will be reasonable to suspect that they have developed crafts.

Guimzas culture is very mysterious, full of strange rituals and unexplained events. They practice some strange and unusual sorts of magic and witchery. And – who knows – it may be that the very fact of their existence is a result of some great magic gone wrong... Guimzas’ mystical rituals usually include ceremonial dances, conjuration, and spell chanting.

So, since we don’t know very much about those wonderful creatures and their civilization, this short introduction to Guimzology is over. But we promise to keep you informed about all new developments on the subject and all new facts that we can learn from members of our expeditions when (and if) they return from the Himalayas.
