Navigating around GuitarTab is done by clicking the mouse or using the keyboard arrow keys to select the fret or chord/lyric text that you wish to edit. If you select a fret on a string, you can type a number using the number keys on the keyboard to enter the fret number, or hit the delete key to clear the fret.

Some features that do things to multiple events require using the Mark In and Mark Out in order to select an event range. Using the markers with Cut Copy and Paste allows you to cut copy and paste an entire range of events. These event markers can also be used to playback sections of a song.
