My chapbook of poems, “Back of the Envelope,” is available from Amazon or from Copperdome Press at http://www6.semo.edu/universitypress/Copperdome/C-BE.htm. It includes the poems that won the 2008 Boulevard Magazine Emerging Poet prize. Earlier brushes with success: runner-up for the 2008 Portlandia Prize; finalist for the 2007 Guy Owen Prize; three times nominated for a Pushcart Prize and, recently, for a PEN prize in poetry.

My poems, essays, and reviews appear in 32 Poems, Arts and Letters, Bellevue Literary Review, Boulevard, Chautauqua Literary Journal, Cimarron Review, Connecticut Review, Gargoyle, Gettysburg Review, Hollins Critic, New York Quarterly, Poet Lore, River Styx, Salmagundi, Southeast Review, Southern Indiana Review, Southern Poetry Review, Valparaiso Poetry Review, and elsewhere. My poems have been anthologized in A Common Bond: Poetry and Prose by American and Vietnamese Veterans of the Vietnam War; Cabin Fever: Poets at Joaquin Miller’s Cabin, 1984-2001; and Off the Record: An Anthology of Poetry by Lawyers.

I am founding editor of The Innisfree Poetry Journal (www.innisfreepoetry.org), a semi-annual, online journal of contemporary poetry. Innisfree 1 appeared in September 2005; Innisfree 8 (the Dan Masterson issue) appeared in March 2008. All past issues are available online, including Innisfree 7 (the Marianne Boruch issue), Innisfree 6 (the Eric Pankey issue), and Innisfree 5 (the Terence Winch issue).
