Why I created this bLog

After November 2, 2004, I came to the realization that most people vote based on a single overriding issue that is important to them. I think this is a huge mistake. The world is not black and white, the states are not red and blue. We live in a country of varying shades of purple. Let's be reasonable and discuss all the issues that are important to us.

We are all tired of the pundits analyzing why people voted the way they did, and frankly, I'm tired of every supposed expert in the world trying to tell me how to think. I know we can do better. What I hope to do is provide information on the news items I find to be most disturbing for our country and discuss how I feel about them. As a pretty liberal guy (yes, I am proud of being liberal), I have strong opinions that may be different than others. But that's what discussion is all about. If we can be reasonable and talk about issues without shutting out the other person, then we can make progress toward finding solutions.

My main beef is with hypocrisy. Do you know this word? Hypocrisy - The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness. That would be saying one thing and doing another. No party can claim innocence. I think it is important to point out hypocrisy and call people on it whenever it rears its ugly head. I will be just as hard on liberal democrats as well as conservative republicans in this regard. So, please enjoy my bLog, and most importantly, think for yourself.
