Ready to Celebrate

As the nation celebrates this inauguration day, Washington is more secure than area 51 and our soon to be secretary of state thinks the tsunami was wonderful. Great way to start four more years!

In preparation for the second most expensive party in Washington (Bush's first inauguration cost even more), thousands of citizens have been inconvenienced and missles have been deployed around the city. I never dreamed I would see the day when Americans lived in a police state, but that's what it looks like to me. And the reign of King George is only just beginning. With caring and compassionate people like Ms. Rice as our secretary of state, optimism in this country must be soaring while those abroad must be quaking in their boots.

This from Condoleezza Rice: "I do agree that the tsunami was a wonderful opportunity to show not just the US government, but the heart of the American people, and I think it has paid great dividends for us," she said.
