What Energy Policy?

Recently, George gave a speech about his energy policy to the Small Business Association. I found his comments to be very confusing. Judge for yourself. In the speech, George says . . .

"We need to get on a path away from the fossil fuel economy."

And in response, then goes on to say . . .

"I've asked congress for more than $2 billion over ten years for my coal research initiative"

Huh?

Read on for more . . .

It's kind of interesting that George portends to want to get away from fossil fuels, yet pushes an energy bill through congress that opens up the Alaska wildlife refuge for more oil drilling and provides incentives for establishing more refineries in America.

In his speech, George also makes the following statement . . .

"Technology is the ticket, it's this nation's ticket to greater energy independence"

Oh, really? Is that why you are cutting the budget for the National Science Foundation by $111 million? Hypocrisy, George! Your actions contradict your words.
