Democrats are calling for new Ethics Rules - Associated Press

As you know, ethics rules in congress were changed by the republican majority in order to protect their leader, DeLay. Yes, these are the same people who put those ethics rules in place during the Clinton administration.

DeLay Fundraising Plied Special Interest Groups - Associated Press

It seems Tom DeLay asked fundraisers to identify givers who had particular interests in particular legislative bills to ply for bigger contributions. It just keeps getting sleazier and sleazier. Here's a quote from the AP article:

"What companies that you know of would be interested in tort reform in Texas with asbestos problems that might support TRMPAC?" one DeLay fundraiser wrote in a memo prospecting for donors to the Texans for a Republican Majority Political Action Committee (TRMPAC).

That memo elicited an answer identifying several large companies and interest groups nationwide interested in lawsuit-limiting legislation in Congress and Texas, the documents show.
