What happened to Democracy?So much for a bipartisan congress. It seems
the Republican House Speaker, Dennis Hastert, doesn't give a
shit about what the democrats think.
It seems the House Speaker, Dennis Hastert has
decided to ignore any bill that does not meet with the approval from a majority
of house republicans. Even if a
majority
of the house supports it, if most of the republicans don't, it won't get voted
on. So, basically he is saying democratic input into anything is meaningless. So
much for trying to bring the parties together. I guess, like the federal budget,
they plan on overspending their election capital as soon as
possible.
