Welcome to my website

Four years ago I embarked on a journey to transform myself from a tired, sedentary obese slob to a healthy, active and, I think, attractive guy. With determination and motivation, I have succeeded. I started paying attention to the kind of food I was eating and controlling my portions. I joined the gym and started riding my bike. My motto is eat for health and move your body. There is no magic pill for weight loss and fitness - it takes hard constant work. It is a slow process. My 40th birthday came and went in February and my goal was to be fit by 40. Although I have acheived my goal of improving my fitness, I still have some work to do. I have kept my weight level for most of 2006, but I still need to get my body fat percentage down to about 15%. I started running in the spring of 2005 and haven't stopped. I completed my first half marathon in May 2006 and have since completed two more. I have a full marathon scheduled in January and I'm currently training for that. You can find details about my running on the links to the left. Check out my Motionbased logs to see complete pace, distance, maps and heartrates for my training runs.
