About Greensquare: Art and Environment

Located amid the beautiful and ecologically diverse environs of the Pacific Northwest, Greensquare Studio is the conceptual and actual workspace of Eco-artist Claudia Lorenz.

Greensquare Studio's projects merge art and science to promote fresh understanding about using art to understand ecological processes and sustainability. In the Greensquare Studio (which is often outdoors!), I create public art workshops, site-specific art installations, and art shows to aid the restoration of injured, degraded or threatened landscapes. Using a combination of experimental and traditional art techniques, I work to encourage heartfelt, mutually beneficial connections with the natural environment.

Art Courses and Workshops:
Greensquare workshops can be designed for anyone of any skill level and previous art experience is not required. I specialize in teaching novice adult and special interest groups how to use art-making to support, sustain and bring artistic expression to their environmental efforts. All Greensquare workshops and courses focus on using recycled and environmentally sound materials to make unique, exciting fibre and mixed-media artworks.

For the 2009/2010 schedule of art courses, workshops and more information about past or current Greensquare projects, please contact Claudia at greensquare@mac.com.
