Notes: For many years, I used Evite.com for my reservation system for our house concert series, but I grew tired of its ads, despite some pretty good functionality. I wanted a very simple system that wouldn't get in the way of making my audience reserve a seat.

Starting in late 2006, I designed and built from scratch my own system, using PHP and MySQL.

From a marketing communications sense, the guest could reuse the same URL each time (I would swap out the event), and the information design was more minimalist, so as to not get in the way of promoting the show. I also left out the ability to see another guest's email, but each guest could continue to leave a comment along with their response for everyone else to see. Seeing other's responses factors heavily in deciding whether to come to an event.
