Notes: Like blogging, I use a podcast to extend my brand to the audiences who attend our house concert series. I record an after-show interview with the artist/band and then later mix in clips of their music, for promotion of the artist. I average 100 individual downloads of the audio file, which far exceeds the maximum seating of our venue.

This serves two purposes. If an audience member enjoyed the show, they can hear an intimate discussion with the artist that increases their enjoyment of the evening's entertainment. If they've missed the show, they can catch up at any time with the artist and their music.

For the artist, it means their willingness to be interviewed gets them branded to the 200 members of my mailing list, the 40 audience members from that night, and then to a national house concert mailing list of over 500 members.

I also review albums of artists I'm unable to book but think my audience should hear of anyways. I've also produced an interview with an artist who has played our venue, using Skype to record the internet telephone call.
