Nomar!



The most exciting thing this weekend: the Cubs traded for five-time All-Star Nomar Garciaparra from the Boston Red Sox. I liked him as a Red Sox; like him even more as a Cub. This is great news for the Cub's playoff bid. Nomar is a shortstop who hits for average and power--a rare thing, especially on the Cubs. As long as that Achilles tendon of his stays healthy, this move bodes well. Oh yeah, he went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in his debut and the Cubs beat the Phillies, 6-3.
