Back

As in, I'm back and my back.
First, I'm back from my father's funeral in So. Cal. Actually, we've been back since 4/28, but I've been too busy getting grading done to have time to blog. The services, burial, and reception all went well. There were a good number of friends and relatives present and my mother handled it better than I expected. Of course, there will be plenty of sad days ahead, but given the state of Dad's health and quality of life, his peaceful passing with Mom and his sister at his side was probably better than continued struggles. I sensed a month ago that this bout of setbacks was going to be it. His body had been through so much (I'll spare you the details). It's amazing he hung in as long as he did. I just wish I had had a last chance to talk with him.
Second, my back--it hurts like hell today. This morning I pulled a muscle or something across my neck, shoulders, back, and chest. Technically, it's not my back(bone) that is painful, but some damn muscles. I've had this before, but never so painful. I can hardly turn my head.
