Utrecht, April 1, 2006
Early spring day in Utrecht, Netherlands. We fell in love instantly! I think the warm(er) weather helped.

View of the Domchurch, the largest church spire in the Netherlands.
Entering the Dom Square - the tunnel runs under the tower of the church.
Utrecht has lovely, well-maintained canals. The 11th century Oudegracht.
View of the church tower. In the 1600s the top of the tower fell on the nave.
Looking through the tunnel. The nave is not connected to the tower
View of the plaza next to the nave.
Nice statue.
A row of homes along the canal.
The lower part of the canal is 1,000 years old!
Canal view. Shops along the top, mystery rooms along the bottom.
Between two builds in Utrecht. Notice the brick butresses.
Another view.
From the lower part of the canal, looking up at the lamppost.
Nice homes along the canal. People live there!
Where my Dutch dream house would be.
The park-lined Singel canal.
For the dogs.
17th century row houses.
This one had settled a bit less than the others.
Sculpture outside Centraal Museum.
A view of 14th century Niewegracht - new canal. Funny to see cars like that.
Stairs to the new canal, with message for pet owners.
The red balloon.
A bend in the Niewegracht! Soooo cute.
Building ornamentation.
Narrow streets.
