Arts Council England commissioned
five films to promote Take it away. The scheme
helps people to learn a musical instrument.
The Arts Council wanted the films to reach beyond schools
and established music education structures. They wanted the
films to speak to people from all walks of life.
The result is five films in which musicians talk about how
they learned to play.
This demystifies the learning process, shows how learning
an instrument is an achievable objective and inspires
viewers to have a go.
