"When Out Was In" is a Master's thesis in anthropology that focuses on the rise and fall of the East Village art movement. The piece on gentrification is a chapter in a forthcoming book on the political gestalt of the Lower East Side. Please click on the link above "When Out Was In." The first link below, East Village Art, is to two short Quicktime clips showing an opening from 1986: Nada Video - Jim C. at E.M. Donahue Gallery and the "Hit and Run" stencil art show at The Magic Gallery. The Magic Gallery was run by the Painter Edward Brezinski and Jim C. It was located in Brezinski's East Third and Bowery 6th floor walk-up tenement loft. The video features Brezinski and the artist Michael Roman. The second link is to a high resolution image of a painting on paper, from a series of paintings entitled "experiment in chaos." The third link, "I Am Disturbed," is a poem that was performed at the "Art Around the Park" art action in August of 2005. Jim C. is currently doing VJ work in and around the New York/Woodstock area.
