Paris Day 1-Thursday 8/26/04

Here is our first day in Paris. We toured/climbed both the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.

Our first good glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. The Champs-Elysees at the base of the Arc. More avenues coming in (11 in all) converge in a traffic circle at the base. Glenn and I and the Eiffel Tower. And another "driveway" and garage. Beautiful doors on their garage. Chapelle Notre Dame. Close up. Next we went to see the Eiffel Tower. Beautiful. The gardens and fountains in front. The Tower. Babe. Tower. Fountains. One of the tour boats on the Seine. Up close and ready to be climbed! Under the base. The line to walk up was MUCH shorter... :) The first stairs (55 flights in all!) Going up! Parc du Champ de Mars. The Grand Palais? A section of the old stairs to get to the top. We climbed the stairs to the second level seen here. Liberty torch statue.
