The Other Son of Reagan

To directly contradict his half-brother Ron Reagan Jr., who spoke at the Democratic National Convention to promote stem cell research, the Republican National Committee is considering asking Michael Reagan to speak at the GOP Convention against stem cell research. Stem cell research, which Michael Reagan dismisses as a "junk science", could potentially cure illnesses like the Alzheimer's that killed his father.

Michael Reagan claims he ended up having a good relationship with his father. Still, his father was the commencement speaker at Mike's high school graduation and, while introducing himself to the graduating class, introduced himself to Mike saying, "My name is Ronald Reagan, what's yours?" Mike introduced himself as his son, prompting Reagan to reply, "Oh, I didn't recognize you." - Outside Looking In

I have to wonder if not supporting research to cure his own father might be a little more personal than political.
