Music.

This is the music page. Here you can find a lovely stash of Vague Form and the now extinct "obo" AACs and mp3s.

Note: Unfortunately, due to space constraints, I have been forced to make cuts somewhere, and, as such, I will no longer be offering songs in both AAC and mp3. Most songs on this page are now only available as AACs, which means you will need Apple's iTunes to play them. Yes, it is available for PCs as well as macs. Some browsers have problems with AAC still, but right clicking and selecting "save as" should avoid this problem. Songs that are available as mp3s are noted below the description.

Makin Cheese
This song got started while eating. I'll let you guess what I was eating at the time... Well, It's kind of a downtempo groove. It's got a fairly dark feel to it, and definitely crank up your subs for this one. For any Logic geeks out there, this songs got a TON of Sculpture sounds in it. We love that thing. Enjoy, bass junkies.

Attic [versions II + III]
Whew... just when it looked like we'd stopped doing ambient... This is actually two versions of one of the Night Framer songs. They've been fused into one longer piece, and it's pretty obvious where the change takes place. I like'd them both so much that they're both here.

Silence Before the Flames
Our first complete Logic 7 song. This song is actually more of a step back from ambient to our old industrial ways. I had this image of a house burning down in my head while I was working on it. Basically, imagine standing outside your house as you watch all your belongings burn, that mixture of anger, shock, and depression is what we were aiming for. Hopefully, you can catch some of that and enjoy this track.

Jasmnibu
This song is pretty much entirely based off of weird chords. The melody and rhythm synths combine to form one very tortured, sad chord. The drum line with the strange reverb / delay rocks the house y'all. Imagine sitting and waiting for the bus for hours. That horrible, dull, dry, sticky feeling and the lull it creates in your brain seep out into this gorgeous track.

Boot
This is our welcome to the world of Logic 6 Pro on Power Mac G5's. New synths, and better software on better computers. It's a nice and mellow groove, forgive the possibly excssive use of effects, but I really wanted to test the new hardware. The main synth is an ES2 with lots of tremelo and chorus. The 6/4 time signature workes very nicely.

Shallow Encirclement
We continue down the path where we are encircled. There is a nifty little high pitched thing, and an awesome drum beat. We are quite proud of this one. Please enjoy your listen.

Hell in C Minor
This song is painful. It hurts. Expect to derive no joy from this. We think hell would either sound like this or like Britney Spears.

Ambyulansiytis
We continue down our ambient path. This song is a peaceful look into the world. Imagine being barely on the edge of conciousness as you are rushed to the hospital, your life clinging desperately, but slipping.

Urrngih Mrpyano
Named after the grunting noises made around 4 A.M., this song is a more up beat ambient song... If that makes any sense... Strange drum lines with ambient organ-ish accompaniment.

Urinate First
Fancy a jazzy number to spice things up for you a little bit? Then look no further! Now featuring a tap dance solo! (This is an older song, but it's great and now available in AAC.)

Specialma Quartismo
This is a nice little ambient / downbeats song. It's starts off quite ambient with some quiet melodic synths and works into a tweeked orchestral groove. Imagine aliens having an orchestral performance and dancing under water. Enjoy.

Grog
This is a drum and bass song. We wrote this quite some time ago, before we became cool and more ambient, but it's still enjoyable. Imagine sailing the seven seas and plundering while drinking a horrible green fluid that totally messes you up.

Ignore 2
This song is the Tektite version of the Night Framer song Ignore.

Ignore
This is the original version of the song above. It an ambient poppy sounding song. Imagine spending a day on an elevator and the strange looks people would give you for no reason other than you simply were somewhere without having a destination.

Flo
Totally classic pfeiffer. This is a great break beat song. We absolutely adore this beat. It is to be feared.
| mp3 |

Get It Over Night
This another great break beat. This song starts off with a nice groove and then smahes your face with fast paced drum and bass.

Oats
One of our classic d'n'b tunes. It's one of my favorites.

Battery
This song is intended to make the listener feel hopeful, then hopeless. Imagine standing in a city that just got bombed. Everyone is working together to rebuild it, and then it gets bombed again.

Fy
hmmm... f.y. Wonder what that means... This song is about the kind of anger that nobody wants to have; it's anger towards someone you don't want to be angry at, and the anger hurts.

W.H.S.S.U.S.T.B.
This is previously known as the "Safeway Song," as it was mainly made from samples Tektite-Blastula, Night Framer, and Ross (one of these thing is not like the others...) recorded at Safeway. Imagine being chased down a dark alley behind Safeway.

Now for the olden days. These are the songs I have decided to allow to exist from the days when Vague Form was known as obo (before we knew that name was already taken.) It's very ambient, but I think it's pretty good, considering Night Framer and Tektite were about 13 and only had a QS 6.1 to work with at the time. (For you Mac music nerds, we were using a midi to serial cable adapter at the time. It required a printer port) Anyways, on with the songs:

Forever Forgotten
This song is quite ambient, it's a choral song with lots of chimey things and what have yous. Imagine the fog blowing through the trees and rays of sun light piercing through the leaves creating a billion little spikes of light.

The Mighty Galacto
This is slightly less ambient, and by that I mean there is a drumline. Imagine two 13 year olds trying to write a song armed with a Performa 6400 and a QS 6.1. You'll see what I mean.
