Would you love to feel able to sing (with friends, in a choir, in church, in a karaoke bar) but you think, or you’ve been told, that you can’t sing? Or perhaps you like to sing but are not very confident about how your singing voice sounds to other people?

We* run courses for small groups (5-8 people) of adult 'beginner' singers in Baildon, West Yorkshire (about halfway between Bradford city centre and Otley). Five groups  successfully completed the course and we are now taking a break from this sort of work for a while. (*About Us)

The total charge is £70: £10 for your initial individual session (see below), £25 as a deposit for the course and the balance of £35 payable at the first session (or this can be spread over the first 3 sessions if you prefer).

We know from experience that the reason why many people have come to think they can't sing is that they have tried to join in with songs that are pitched outside their natural vocal range.

So, prior to the course, each applicant is sent a CD* of simple vocal exercises and some songs. These cover varying vocal ranges and you're asked to sing along with them every day for at least a week - to help discover which of the ranges suits your voice, and so that you begin to tone up the muscles used to sing. There are more CDs/mp3s during the course, and everyone is expected to spend at least half an hour each day working with them.

Each participant comes initially for an individual session of about half-an-hour (we'll send you some short exercises & songs to sing along with in preparation). We realise this may be quite a daunting prospect and we make it as comfortable and non-threatening as we can. Our aim in this session is to establish where your natural singing voice lies, so that we can prepare the course to suit everyone's vocal range.
