Mimi's Cafe
San Jose, CA
An excellent offering- easily the best I've reviewed so far. The dinner rolls were served warm and lightly toasted, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Freshly baked (without a doubt) and had a good light texture. My only gripe was its glaringly ordinary flavor.
The brown slices were excellent- great flavor (like carrot cake) and not too sweet, served warm and freshly baked. I really enjoyed them but they tasted more like cake than bread to me, which if true would nullify their eligibility in this review. But I'm biased with a weakness for good baked fare and will let this one slip by.
Overall Score: 8.5 (Average of 8 for the dinner rolls and 9 for the carrot cake/bread)
