WHAT IS A SHOE LAST?
The shoe last represents the anatomical information of the foot, at the same time giving the shoe a pleasing & fashionable appearance.
A shoe last is designed for a particular heel height, toe shape, and type of footwear. Different styles of shoes require lasts with different characteristics.
For instance, an open toe sandal will require a last broader at the toes to allow the toes to spread out when walking in the sandal, and a boot last is designed to hug the instep for a closer fit.
When a heel height varies on the same sandal last, a new last must be created in order for the shoe to balance & fit properly.

Shoelast making is getting already into a new digital age, and today the 3D CAD/CAM system is the best way to project and develop shoelast protoype and massive production.
Of course computer design cannot replace the human feeling on making protoype, but computer design can help to speed up the model's making and now is a necessary tool to manage all the shoelast making process.

I did start my journey in the shoe last making from FORMIFICIO ROMAGNOLO ITALY , getting my basic experience on Shoelast Manufacture and Sample-modelling department.
I did get experience in all over the fields of Shoe Last making, starting from the production line to the prototype modelling system.

I did start my worldwide experience from Taiwan to China, I've always thought that changing different places could give me more options to improve myself and to learn more things, specially about the new Digital-Technology that at that time, was just starting to change the way of the shoe last making.
