"It's easier to maintain your health than regain it." —Dr. Ken Cooper

Traditionally the role of the physician was to heal the sick. However as we have come to understand better how the body works and what are the factors that make a difference in health or sickness, it has become increasing clear that it is better to prevent illness than to try to heal the problem after it shows up.

"A stitch in time saves nine"

In the past 10-15 years preventive medicine has become ever more important. As your physician, my role is not only to provide you with advice and help in overcoming illness, but perhaps more importantly, to give you help and advice on how to prevent future illness before it occurs.

In the past illness was considered something that happened to us, but now we have come to realize that often illness occurs because of our lifestyle and choices we make.

Perhaps as much as 75% of illnesses treated today are a result of the way we live our lives today.

The purpose of this section is to highlight lifestyle changes that will help us maintain good health both now and in the future and how to deal with the major causes of illnes.

"An informed patient is a healthier patient"
