There's something important you should know: http://www.burningshed.com/store/nosound/ ..Lightdark is now out of stock..and this is not a bad news at all..we promised good and great things soon...stay tuned.. |
. CASCAIS Portugal Prog Festival CANCELED For reasons not dependent on the band or management intentions, the Cascais Prog Festival (Portugal, 5-6-7 September) is now canceled, and so it's the Nosound performance and presence at the event. New live dates for autumn will be announced soon. |
| . Many more good news, and it’s just the start..again! As probably some of you already knows, when I'm mute isn't because I'm on the new Nosound boat bought with some album sales, nor because I started again doing asome other normal life I have behind music making! As you should already know, and I always say....we are working hard.....even harder than ever....and I'm sure you'll be probably surprised by some forthcoming very big news I still can't announce....things are going, growing, developing..I'm sure you'll be 'shocked' as I was the first time I heard it. Passing on something more tangible and immediate, I'd like to announce that all our back catalogue is available as digital download on main stores around the globe (iTunes, Rhapsody, Emusic, Amazon) as well as it's on our Burning Shed shop, where you can always find in exclusive the high quality versions with printable graphics, getting a better product and helping more the band! I'm just back from 4 days with the great Tim Bowness for some more studio work on our forthcoming project/album, still unnamed but undoubtely already good enough to let us with a feeling that something strong and different-but-linked to our own respective projects will come out! We added three new potentially tracks to the roaster, I'll be at work on all the material and we'll start soon the selection for the album. Beautifully shaped and varied songs joining our respective sensibilities and experiences, plus a host of great guests will do another exciting release hopefully for the year...more news to come soon about this! Lightdark was released since about three months, and we have to really say THANK YOU. We received a totally unexpected feedback in terms of contacts, reviews, and album sales. The hype on Nosound is growing day by day, your support was so important and I really hope it will be always more and more.....it's always because of you that we are currently about to announce some very BIG step forward for Nosound...you'll be even more important, so just keep on! You're working like the sixth element of the band..and I'll always be there with you sharing good or bad feelings like we did with the rest of the band. We had with Lightdark and thanks also to Burning Shed label and Tim Bowness vocal guest a big step forward with Nosound, and we are about to start again soon from a potentially even more important event...a bit more of work and everything will be clear to you too :) Another great news is that we'll play live at the Cascais festival in Portugal, on Sunday 7th September. It will not be easy for all, but check website it will be a really big event with a lot of hot names we'll have the honour to play with: http://www.cascaisprog.com/mainUK.htm If you think you'll join let us know and please leave comments or your presence on our myspace and last.fm pages (just check signature at the end of this email for links!). But good news never come alone (as the bad ones!), so in the meantime of all this I had a great time in studio in the last two months working on some good and fresh new material for Nosound third studio album! Hopefully next year some more Nosound will be brought to you...I'll still not reveal details about what or why...but, if you thought Lightdark was a great result after three years of work and waiting, you'll be surprised how far from reality it is....it seems it will be 'just' the best ever possible starting point for greater things..we are a lucky band, having a strong fan support like you and really great people like Tim Bowness, all at Burning Shed, Rob Palmen and others who helped making a dream already true something even better. And, last but not least, the fellow guys from Nosound Street Team made a miracle bringing to new life the Nosound forum!! Check it at : http://nosound.proboards19.com/ As you already probably know, a forum is one of the most important and vital resources of any website....so please join, discuss, invite others, and help spreading the world! There are 330 in the official mailing list, let's hope to find everyone of you there too. There will be as always a benefit from joining the forum....an high quality track from our cd 'Slow it goes' will be available to all forum subscribers. Give life to it and join! Quite long one this time...I think that's all ...for now..speak soon in the next few weeks for some really 'major' news.. |
. No-Man new album 'Schoolyard Ghosts' and collaboration, new recording sessions and more! After 5 long years the new No-Man album 'Schoolyard Ghosts' will be soon out! Due to released on 12th May 2008 (on Kscope), it's already available for preordering from BurningShed. Featuring a host of excellent collaborations and contributions, it's great to announce it will contain also a song composed by Giancarlo Erra with Tim Bowness for their own project, and then passed under Steven Wilson studio work for a new arrangement and production for the new No-Man album! 'Beautiful Songs You Should Know' is the song, and will be also on second bonus disc in another alternative arrangement. Written and recorded between Autumn 2007 and Spring 2008, Schoolyard Ghosts is No-Man's sixth official studio album and its first since 2003's together we're stranger. A distinctive combination of beautifully detailed songwriting, haunting melodies and inventively cinematic production, schoolyard ghosts sees No-Man’s core duo of Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson expanding the band's sonic palette by collaborating with, amongst others, Californian pedal steel ace Bruce Kaphan, saxophonist/flautist Theo Travis, drummers Pat Mastelotto and Gavin Harrison, and the London Session Orchestra (arranged by Dave Stewart). The Schoolyard Ghosts cd/dvda comes in a lavish digi-pack with booklet and also features a 5.1 mix of the album, a photo gallery and videos for 3 songs. Schoolyard Ghosts is now available to pre-order from Burning Shed's No-Man Store. The No-Man Store edition comes with an exclusive 6 track, 20 minute, bonus disc of alternates and edits. You can visit official microsite for latest news, promotional material, and full video and audio previews! More music news coming this period....Giancarlo Erra and Tim Bowness will meet again in early May in Sweden (at Stephen Bennett own studio) to finish some work on their new forthcoming project/album, due hopefully to release somewhere toward the end of the year! After a few intensive sessions during 2007 it's now time to finish some refinements, doing overdubs and listening to the material and making selections for the final album, plus possibly some new writing and recording sessions! Expect some more news about it soon... Last but not least, Lightdark and Sol29 remastered are still going really well...we are about to print again the new album after just two months...an incredibly expanding fanbase and buzz on internet, among with lot of radio air/web play, fans support all over the web and rave reviews are getting more and more people on our websites to listen to some of the music freely available. The albums were also recently listed on Waves website (famous high-end pro audio software developer) for their production and recording quality...something really appreciated, being sound and production an important part of Nosound musical style! The band with his manager Rob Palmen is working seriously about live dates across Europe..we already have a few festivals booked for the summer period, but we are waiting for some other confirmation to announce all the verified dates..stay tuned and be ready to book a flight if you're not too far..we are looking forward to meet soon all of you! |

6 - 2 - 2008
And if you want to listen more from the band on stage, don't miss the full lenght version of ECHOES (Pink Floyd) played by Nosound 11 October 2007 in Rome. It's available in high quality streaming from Nosound Last.fm page...don't miss it! Download available only for mailinglist/newsletter subscribers. But the good news are not ending, and this is just the start of what will be a BIG year for Nosound..
full remastered with 2 additional bonus tracks To coincide with the release of Nosound's new album, 'Lightdark',
the band's celebrated debut release 'Sol29' has been reissued in
a remastered and recompiled final edition.
Now sounding more detailed, clear and powerful, this is the definitive
'Sol29' edition and compiles all the music written during the first phase
of Nosound's evolution. The album includes different versions of 'The World is Outside' and 'The Red Song', already appeared (with original mix) in the DVD 'The World is Outside'.
You can read all reviews that Sol29 received on the apposite section of this website..and check in the music section and on our MYSPACE for more free previews! To let you appreciate the real improvement on this new version, there's a high quality lossless FLAC track available for free reserved for our mailing list subscribers: The Moment She Knew (9:39). It represents for sure the new 'sound' on this new version of the album , and being one of the most appreciated tracks of the disc hopefully will be a great listening for all.
It contains three unreleased tracks, out takes from Lightdark sessions and not available on the album! It's one of the more eclectic Nosound releases, concentrating half an hour of music in the form of a dreamy song (Cold Afterall), an improvised edgy psychedelic track (Like the elephant?) and the long lush ending ambient title track 'Clouds'. Available just now from our Digital Download Shop, it's a great companion to the new album. There's at the moment no plan for a physical cd release, but it will depend on the requests..so let us know what you think about it. Again an exclusive 4 minutes long preview medley is available to all our mailing list subscribers! Well..you waited several months, and supported us becoming one of the best fanbase we could ever dream about, we promised you big things for 2008..we're starting, thanks to anyone who'll support us preordering the album(s)..and expect soon even more..as already said, this is just the start.. |
. Happy New Year...and vote for Nosound at NME BREAKING BANDS! Waiting for major events related to new album release, if you can please take a bit of your time to subscribe to NME (free) and vote for us at NME BREAKING BANDS http://www.nme.com/newmusic/nosound If almost all of you can vote for us we could collect enough to take some more attention at last from some major magazine, meaning a lot in this period to launch Lightdark! In the last few days we had some private listening session for the last remastered (and with bonus tracks..) Sol29 and comments were really encouraging. Being compiled with the missing tracks appeared on DVD (slightly remixed) and all the others remastered, it's probably the best possible Sol29 release. I hope this will be a pleasure to listen again to the album in a new version and a great and better discover for newcomers. |
. New year is arriving..Lightdark preorder available from January! We were mute in the last two weeks, but we're not giving up...just waiting to pass over the holidays period to post official announce and start preorders! Lightdark will be released somewhere toward the end of January, and starting from the second week of January it will be available for preordering..with a couple more of surprises and the free high quality digital download single Places Remained! Details with the start of new year.. For anyone speaking italian (or wishing to try some of the free online translation tools!) here's the first interview we got about the new album and recent Nosound releases! We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas too..next year will be an intense one :) |
. Nosound - Clouds (ep) , first new release is out! http://www.burningshed.com/store/nosound/ and you'll find it as a digital download with printable graphics, both in mp3 and high lossless quality. One of Nosound's more eclectic releases, 'Clouds' is a 3 track EP of exclusive, new, material recorded during the sessions for the band's forthcoming album 'Lightdark'. Coming two years after debut release, 'Sol29', the EP can be considered as a bridge between their atmospheric first album and the more diverse and dynamic, 'Lightdark'. For all Nosound newsletter subscribers there's an exclusive 4 minutes audio preview. This is the tracklist: 1. cold afterall (6:18) 'Cold Afterall': One of the first songs prepared for the new album, the song is an excellent example of the new 'band' sound that Nosound has developed since 'Sol29'. We hope 'Clouds' will be a first release to present Nosound after two years of intensive work and changes, before the final album Lightdark that will bring the overall new picture. Thanks in advance for your support, if the selling numbers of this digital download will go better than ever it will be a big sign and help for us and the new album release. Waiting for your comments on our Nosound mailing list and Myspace, and don't forget to check the exclusive forthcoming new album Lightdark 6+ minutes long medley containing long excerpts from every track! |
. Nosound - Slow, it goes (cdr live) ,
Digital Download edition! http://www.burningshed.com/store/nosound/ It's a performance of January 2007 containing probably the best tracks from Sol29, in a quite good stereo dat official bootleg quality. This title too is available as Digital Download in both mp3 quality and high lossless format (flac), always complete with printable graphics & artwork. This is the tracklist: 1. idle end (8:00) More material live will come soon near the Lightdark album release, we recorded also the last gig and I just ended mixing the all thing, lots of good material we really look forward to publish soon. .Happy New Year!
After almost a month of silence, we just want to wish all our fans an Happy New Year! Even if silent on website,
we're working hard behind the scenes. Unexpected positive news are coming during this month, and next week
we'll be able probably to start with some of these news. Expect something very special within a few days as a gift
for a great start for the new year.
We would also like to thank personally all of you for your unvaluable support. After two years since Sol29 release
we are coming back with a new album, Nosound is becoming a more mature project, a real band, a known name.
We received lots of good reviews and sold an unexpected high number of copies, and all this would be impossible
without your support. New great things will come soon...finally again HAPPY NEW YEAR!
.www.lightdark.net, official promo website and first audio / video previews! ![]()
Just visit it now (broadband internet connection and Flash 8 required) and you'll able to view a special and dedicated video promo introducing the album. If you'll like the video you'll be able to download an mpeg4 quality version, ready also for your iPod Video if you have one. In the next few months you'll find also a medley of the various tracks, and finally the complete single Places Remained, just a month before the album release! We have now a relatively small but trusted and strong fanbase, and we are asking you to help us spreading the word, posting a comment/link about www.lightdark.net website among forums, mailing lists, blogs and whenever people speak about the music you like. Soon more news about the new album and all the great things that will likely happen in the next few months. The race is just starting now.. |
.Lightdark, the new album
We have it! Even if still working hard for final release date and details, the new album is almost ready, and it's
by far the best thing we ever could think to! It will feature Tim Bowness collaboration (plus others), and after
debut Sol29 is probably the first 'band' album for Nosound. It will contain the usual and appreciated Nosound
style and music, in what we think is a big step forward in our music composition and form.
From the long and luscious 16 minutes long From Silence To Noise to the electronic ambient of About Butterflies
and Children, from the classic Nosoundish Cold Afterall to the powerful and memorable Places Remained,
Lightdark will be the name of our second album and will contain these and other songs for more than 50 minutes
of new music. A lot of material as usual was left outside to find a more proper place in some online or secondary
release in the near future. We are all really excited about the music, and we hope you'll be too. Audio previews will
come soon.
.Tim Bowness collaboration continues Working on the ongoing collaboration between Giancarlo Erra/Nosound and Tim Bowness continued in mid October in UK, Norwich. Three days of sessions produced more recordings for existing tracks and a new one, Warm Winter. Being again very emotional and moving, this new track will be added to what probably become a new parallel project/album. Actual selection of tracks includes a wide range of moods and music, being at the same time very unique. Soon more details.. |
.Nosound/Tim Bowness recordings ... and new album coming..
Work between Giancarlo Erra (Nosound) and Tim Bowness (No-Man)
continues. After recording sessions with Nosound in Rome in April and in
NY in August, new sessions in October in Norwich are planned at the moment.
About the new tracks, Beautiful Songs You Should Know has been
described by Tim as being one of the strongest and most melodically rich pieces
he's recorded outside of his work with Steven Wilson and No-Man, while At The
Center Of It All is an ambitious 10 minute semi-orchestral piece, both
featuring Marianne DeChastelaine (ex Heather Nova/ex Samuel Smiles) on
cello, that will join probably again with Nosound music.
Working on mixes for the new songs is going forward, and having now a lot of
songs together probably there will be also something else with all this material..
Working on Nosound other tracks for new album is nearly ended, we're now
looking at some practical aspects and times for the release and details will be out
soon. What's sure is that a lot of material is going to be released in the next few
months, and in parallel working on new material is already on the way.
As soon as we'll have more details about the release we'll be able to start telling
about some promotional live dates we're planning too.
.Nosound new tracks in New York After two weeks spent in New York a lot of good news and music is coming. Spending some days with Tim and his friends was enjoyable and allows an authentic NY living instead of the boring tourist usual visits. A friendly feeling accompained these days and all the composing and recording sessions with Tim, making them possibly even better. We made some final takes and arrangement/mixing on the new track already composed in Rome, and two lenghtly new tracks were written and recorded. In our opinion are to be candidated as the best done together until now. I'll do some mixing and final adjustement on this tracks during the next week. It seems there will be even more material for the next album, that configures himself again to be a great step forward. During recording sessions we were joined also by Marianne DeChastelaine at the cello, old time friend of Tim (yet present on Samuel Smiles project), genuine person and beautifully talented cellist living in New York. Results were surprising, and I hope Marianne will collaborate with Nosound even more with her distinctive sound and melodic feeling, perfectly in tune with mood of our songs. Last but not least our friend Jeffrey helped a lot making our sessions enjoyable, perfect and without problems at all.. thanks man! At the end, perfect and deeply emotional days as the new songs we recorded. |
