DidgHeadRadio Festival Guest Player Scheme Sponsored by Red Funnel Ferries
corporate_sig

The festival line-up is booked using a financial budget determined by expected minimum tickets sales.
After the initial amount allocated to book performers has been used it is open for individuals or bands to apply to be part of the festival line-up on a no-fee basis.
This is called the Guest Player scheme and is supported by our main sponsor Red Funnel Ferries.
Guest players are treated the same as paid performers.... they are included on the line-up on the website, play on the main stage as part of the main performance programme and are offered hospitality when here on the Island. (They are not an 'open mic' act)

The festival wants to offer as many players and bands as possible an opportunity to play on the main stage and in developing this Guest Player scheme seeks to help bands come to the Isle of Wight and be part of our event, however, there are only a limited number of places available.

We hope the Guest performer scheme will not only attract well established performers but those who are wanting to gain experience in a larger festival setting.

The scheme works as follows:-
i) Any band or individual can apply to play at the festival on a no-fee basis.
ii) If accepted they will be part of the main line up and listed on our website and perform on our main stage.
iii) Ferry crossing to the Island will be paid but at the moment no other travel expenses are covered.
iv) Festival passes will be given to individual players or bands only. However.... if it can be shown that people travelling with the performer have significantly helped with travel costs such as sharing car expenses... additional free passes may be given.
v) Camping equipment can be provided especially for those travelling by air.

Applications should be made by eMail and should include, if possible, a link to a Myspace or other information site which ideally should provide some photos and MP3 files of your music. Details like previous performance history will be important but we will also consider those who are just starting out on their musical performance career.
