Feminist Historiography, Journalism History, and the Problem of Human Agency


I have posted pdf files of my dissertation, "Feminist Historiography, Journalism History, and the Problem of Human Agency," on my .Mac website. I completed this in 1994. Although it is somewhat outdated, particularly in its discussion of various theoretical versions of feminism, as well as its discussion of the state of journalism historiography, much of it is still relevant.

Notice to sporting goods stores: large women enjoy the outdoors, too!


Trying to find clothing that will enable me to continue bike riding, even in the cold. No luck. Sporting goods stores assume only small women enjoy the outdoors.

Silence Speaks...


I came across this website a few years ago. I can't remember how. But I was enormously impressed by it, and by the kind of work being done by this organization with victims of violence. I encourage people to go to this website and view the digital stories told here by the victims themselves. Though they deal with horrible experiences, they nonetheless represent great hope and the powerful healing possibilities inherent in telling your own story in a creative way.
