It's been over a month since I started this
weblog, and I've been having a grand time with it. In fact, the more I do it,
the more I
want
to do it. But it can be extremely time-consuming, especially those entries that
involve reflecting on large issues and/or incorporating information from other
websites or other resources that I think my readers would find useful or
enlightening. Also, there are some costs associated with maintenance, including
keeping up my .Mac subscription. I would like to devote a great deal more time
to this weblog, to make it even more useful, by more thoroughly covering the
topics I have already established, and possibly adding more. But every minute I
spend on this is a minute taken away from other things I could be doing to earn
my living. So I have added a PayPal feature that will enable people to easily
(and securely) donate whatever amount they deem appropriate. (Disclaimer: A
small portion -- about 3% -- of whatever you pay goes to PayPal in order to pay
for the service. And if you do not already have a PayPal account, you will have
to create one -- but you will be able to use that account for other online
shopping as well.)
Look for link underneath the "About Me" section to the right. As the readership (and, I hope, the donations) for this weblog builds, I will increase the amount of time I spend on it and will go into more issues in more depth. Donate $25 or more and you will receive an 8x10 high quality digital print of a photograph or art print of your choice as seen here. More will be added later, so if you don't see anything you like right away, check back another time. If you don't have $25 right now but still want to receive a print, donate what you can & send me an e-mail indicating your intent to donate more. You can still qualify to receive a print if your full donation of $25 is received within six months. (Your print will be sent after the full $25 is received.) If you don't wish to use the PayPal feature, send me an e-mail using the feedback link at the bottom of each entry indicating your intention, and I will send you information on how to mail your donation. To designate your selection, send me an e-mail using the feedback link at the bottom of each entry. Include the title of the image you want and include the URL where you found it (copy the URL from your browser window and paste it into your e-mail).
