Rochester, N.Y., marks 2000+ U.S. Soldiers Dead in Iraq War

Here are selections of my photos from today’s (10/29/05) anti-war rally in Rochester, marking 2000+ U.S. soldiers dead in the Iraq War. You won’t see much of this on the news.

Responding to the call put out by United for Peace and Justice, the Bring Them Home Now coalition, the American Friends Service Committee, and Cindy Sheehan, Rochester Against War (RAW), the Peace Action and Education Task Force of Metro Justice, and many other local groups sponsored the rally. A chain, with the names of each of the 2,000 dead US troops, lined the streets. The rally began at the Federal building, then moved to the Rochester War Memorial (across from the Democrat & Chronicle headquarters), and ended at the Military Recruiting Station.
