"Homeland Security" Nightmare

The term "nightmare" in the title is used in its literal sense. Last night I had a horrible dream...

I don't know how I got to this point in the dream, but for some reason I had wandered into a zoo where the animals were frolicking about in total freedom ... i.e., no cages. The animals weren't the problem. It was a very peaceful scene, and I sat down on the grass to enjoy it all. Then I got up to leave, and apparently I walked through the wrong gate. All of a sudden I was accosted by security officers, who demanded to know who I was and what I was doing there. I did not have any identification on me.

I thought at first the problem was that I hadn't paid to get into the zoo. So I offered to pay the entry fee. But that wasn't the problem. Apparently I represented a huge security risk. The security officers insisted that I complete a form that supposedly was a scientifically validated "personality profile" test. But the questions made absolutely no sense at all, and I became very frustrated. There was no way I could answer the questions!

Finally I shouted, look, just arrest me! The security officers were infuriated with that response and insisted that I complete the nonsensical form. When I said I could not do that because the questions made no sense, they were even more infuriated. So I said, "Is this about homeland security?" They then started to beat me up.

Fortunately I awakened soon after.

Could this be a premonition of what is to come in this country?

What a horrible thought!

It's actually not all that far-fetched, given what some U.S. residents of Middle Eastern ancestry have had to endure. See, for example, the story of Ansar Mahmood here and here and here. To sign a petition for Mahmood's release, go here.
