I will be co-teaching a week-long journalism workshop for 8-12 year olds at Writers & Books July 19-23 with graphic artist Casey Gathy. This will run all day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a break for lunch). The workshop is titled “Word on the Street.” Consider enrolling your child in what is sure to be a fun and thought-provoking workshop! Here’s the description: “This is a journalism workshop where participants will spend the week developing articles for print. Our news team will beat the streets to uncover ‘the scoop’ and cover recent events in the Neighborhood of the Arts and in popular culture. We will read and critique articles from popular magazines, entertainment TV shows, City, and the Democrat & Chronicle brought in by the instructor and participants.
