COBBS HILL IN JANUARY

Enough already! Gray, cold days, snow and icy pavements, have kept me indoors too long. Finally got out on the outdoor bike today and managed the Cobbs Hill ride again, despite being away from it for a month.

Finally broke down and bought an indoor bike so I can ride through the winter. Decided on a goal of 1,000 miles by the first day of Spring.

CRAZY LADY RIDES AGAIN -- BELOW FREEZING, WINDCHILL @ 20

I was stressed out today for a number of reasons and so decided to do a ride a little after 6 p.m. Local tv website says it's 31 degrees, but just 20 with the wind chill. Coldest day I have ever ridden. I managed a good ride anyway. Warm & toasty upper body. Slightly chilled lower. More on how that's possible.

FITTING EXERCISE INTO A 40-HOUR WORK WEEK

A friend of mine wrote, regarding the benefits of my bike riding schedule: "Great -- glad to hear its working out for you. Maybe there is hope for me, but I don't see how I'm going to fit anything like that in a 40-hour work week."
