Solo piano creates a softer ambiance

"Give me keys, lots of keys... don't fence me in!"

SOLO PIANO AND "GROUP SOUND" PERFORMANCES

If the guest list or audience bridges a broad range of ages, backgrounds, and tastes, George Melvin's exceptionally flexible solo performances will fill the bill perfectly.

  • George can provide SOLO PIANO entertainment using either an on-site piano or his own 88 key electronic piano.

  • He also offers his unique and audience-pleasing instrumental "GROUP SOUND" by adding keyboards and rhythm to complement the piano with rich percussion, upright bass, and other accent voices.

The "Group Sound" setup lets George offer the realistic sound of a small instrumental group, but in a performance space less than half that which would be required for a comparable live group. These performances provide a warm and dynamic sound, and people simply enjoy watching how he deftly pulls so much music from a single pair of hands, since no parts of his performance are pre-recorded.

More than thirty-five years of experience as a professional entertainer in national and international venues, large and small, formal and casual, have contributed to George's impressive mental repertoire of jazz, swing and easy-listening tunes and a smaller repertoire of pop, country and show tunes. This extensive repertoire allows him to "read" his audience response and readily tailor his "play list" to the pleasure of his audience. And he is a master at responding to special requests from guests.

George Melvin also offers a smaller repertoire of classical and secular wedding music selections. "Event Planning Forms" are available which allow event planners to request special songs and indicate music preferences.

Whatever the nature of your venue or special event, adding George Melvin's top-drawer musical skills to the mix will make it truly memorable!
