Leonard and Hedda's Baker Beach engagement session

Sometimes accidents area good thing. I say this cause a car accident that happened years ago brought these two together. Funny they now live on the intersection where they first met. Leonard and Hedda are planning a huge destination wedding in Phuket Thailand, but wanted a San Francisco engagement session. I was initially going to shoot the wedding but, had booked the date for a local job. We have been having amazing weather minus all the fog, perfect for photographing in San francisco. Check out some the cool shots we grabbed today.

We started out at the intersection.

Flagged down a cabby for sentimental reasons.

Check out how clear it was today. AWESOME!!!

Created their logo for the wedding. Think silhouette. They have it stitched on the favors, invitations and website.

Baker Beach was equally gorgeous.

When I say RUN, you RUN.

But, sometimes it works for us. So get ready to be wet.

Here is the pay off. Simply amazing.

Chuck and Beverly's engagement session in San Francisco

All my clients have amazing style. Chuck and Bev, especially. From head to toe these two were decked out. From the Haight to Nob Hill to the Embarcadero we hit all the hot spots. Here are some of my favorites.

Bev was so cute. She stashed a ipod and speaker in her purse to get into the groove.

Love the Meat packing District t-shirt by Ed Hardy. Next time I'm in NYC, I gotta grab one.

Here is a sample of the save the date postcard I custom designed for them. If you are doing a a session with me and are interested in having one to send out, call or email for pricing and quantity.

Aaron and Aubrey's San Francisco's enagagement session

My clients ROCK! Remember I am all about the client. If my clients are relaxed and having fun, it shows in the photography. These two are a perfect example of that. We truly had a connection from the begining. The goal, is to just have fun with it.

We started out their favorite wine bar on Nob Hill. Very San Francisco.

Shooting in a series.

All the colors of the cable cars, wine bar all worked together.

I love these of Aaron.

Onto the Legion of Honor.

So I have started something new. In photoshop we are now doing fine art prints. Taking your normal image and taking it beyond the proof. This images has some really amazing overlays. Something to think about when designing your album.

Beach portraits, anyone?

Be up for anything, including getting wet.

The wedding is next year in the wine country. Wait till you see this location. WOW!!! The right client in a killer location. Perfect combination!

Dan and Anna's engagement sesion in Boston

24 hours in Boston for a cool engagement session. Dan and Anna wanted to have a session that really meant something to them. They met while attending Boston University and knew the city would make for a great backdrop. We started having lunch at the Cheers bar and walked the city. It felt much like New York, just a smaller scale. Anyways, I am on a flight back home and wanted to share some of the images I grabbed this afternoon. What a day. :)

Headed to Boston Common park.

Loved this cool tree.

The whole park was in full bloom.

George Washington Staute.

Walking through Beacon Hill.

In front o the Boston Library.

Trinity Church and the John Hancock Tower.

All within walking distance, we shot a lot more. We headed over to BU and ended the day eating sausages at Fenway Park.

Thanks you two, it great to catch up again and I look forward to the wedding day.

Shin and Alexis' engagement session in New York City

Been shooting and traveling so much that I have some catching up to do. Last night I shot a amazing event at the San Francisco MOMA that Stanley Gatti designed called the Modern Ball. Anyways, I'm actually blogging on my way down to Mexico this weekend. So keep checking in as I have some really cool stuff to post.

Last week, Ann and I were in New York, shot several engagement sessions and an amazing wedding. So here goes.

Shin and Alexis are getting married next month in the bay area. They are both originally from the Bay and now reside on the east coast. Here are some of the shots I loved from the session.

Look closely, upstairs there were two very large dogs.

Love the cool vines.

Cherry blossoms were in full bloom all over the city.

You can't tell from this cool shot, but there were people everywhere. Including Joe Photo. LOL.

Gotta love the Poets Walk in Central Park.

And the Bow Bridge.

Maia and Raymond's engagement session in Santa Cruz

So it was back to my old stomping grounds. Geez, do I miss the lifestyle of Santa Cruz. That is a long story and I love my life in San Francisco and would not change anything. Well, I got together with Maia and Raymond for their engagement session. We had a blast out there. Talk about fun, we did everything from a carousel ride to a walk on the beach. This wedding is going to FUN, FUN, FUN.

So Maia and Raymond wanted to ride the carousel, first. So we jumped right into it. I was bouncing up and down and down and up trying to get a killer shot. I was a little dizzy, but having a good time.

We then headed to downtown. Tons of great locations to shoot and it made for a perfect setting.

Natural Bridges. One of my favorite location to shoot in.

We had dinner afterwards and had some time to connect. Talk about the wedding and get to know each other more. Thanks for the nachos!!!!

I have been blessed with many great clients over the years. Maia was kind enough to put her thoughts into some emails.

Hi Gene:

Thanks so much for posting the pictures so quickly. I am blown away by your turnaround time.

You truly capture colors so well and see things that I clearly can't.  Going to the boardwalk was a great idea -- the colors really came alive. I'm glad that even after subjecting you to a merry-go-round ride, you were able to produce incredible images. As much as I wanted some serious shots, you truly brought our personality out and we had a fun day.  Hopefully you enjoyed spending it with us as well.

The session was great and am relieved to see that we got some great shots.  Honestly, I don't know which could be a favorite one.  Our happy selves aside, what I cannot get over is the color and how vibrant it is. I am still floored by it.  You, simply, are fantastic.

Every time I look at these photos, it will evoke memories of how happy Raymond and I are, and how we have so much fun together.  I am so grateful to have found a perfect companion in him. Thank you so much for capturing our spirit.

Regards,
Maia

Kyle and Tania's engagement session in San Francisco

Today was one of those days. Lots of sunshine and time to do a killer engagement session. Tania and Kyle were in town from L.A. to take care of some wedding stuff. So we decided to get together and create some cool images. We headed over to the Palace of Fine Arts to shoot. Lots of people walking around and I wanted to shoot it DIFFERENT from everyone else. We took our time and made it happen. Look out for their wedding later this year in Kauai.

Stephen and Reiko engagement session at Stanford University

Here we are at Stanford. We finally nailed down a date. Reiko, Stephen and I have been trying to get a date that was going to work for all of us. Stephen is on the east coast. Reiko and I would literally miss each other by days. She would leave New York or Chicago and I would just be getting there. Anyways, it was worth the wait. We had a great day with amazing light.

Johan and Irma's San francisco engagement session

Meet Johan and Irma. They are having a wedding in Barbados later this year. Check in to see to see some of the amazing images. These guys booked me about a year and a half ago after being engaged in Paris. They wanted to meet up over at Levis Plaza and take it from there. I never shot in the location, but it meant something to them. The challenge of a new location excited me so I was up for the challenge. We climbed the Filbert steps along side of Telegraph Hill to Coit Tower and finished with a amazing sunset.

Kevin and Lisa's engagement session in Manhattan, NYC

Kevin a golf pro and Lisa an actress on Broadway plan to get married in San Francisco, 2007. We met for the first time this week to create a engagement session in Manhattan. It was great to be shooting again in the big apple. The city was so alive and gave us lots of opportunity for fun images. Lisa is in the broadway show " The Spelling Bee". Get some tickets if you get a chance. Kevin was telling me that as part of the play they like to ask for volunteers from the audience to participate.
Anyways here are some of shots we grabbed that evening.

You can also catch Lisa in the new Paramount Movie "World trade Center"
