Happy Birthday Ann

Today is Ann's birthday. She is away from the studio spending time with her family in North Carolina. She officially turned 30 something. That's all I will say at the risk of getting into serious trouble for posting this.

Ann and I met about 6 years ago in a workshop. She was shooting film and I was going digital. During the workshop Ann asked about meeting clients outside a studio environment, so I shared what was working for me. I asked where she was based and if she wanted to start networking. She was in the city and I was in the Monterey Bay. She always teases me about asking if we could refer. Well, glad I did, cause we have really become the best of friends.

I wanted to send a big hug to you, Ann. You have been so supportive in my business and personal life. Happy Birthday!!!

If any of you want to send Ann a birthday wish, ann@annhamilton.com.

On a side note. Lately, I have had some things come up that really made me think about the value of my job. Last week, I was asked to be a paul-bearer for my aunties funeral. I did so without hesitation. But, during the funeral there was this amazing family photo of at least 4 generations of my family there. My uncles had all asked for me to make copies for them. I had a client that was jogging by the studio stop and tell me that her dad just passed away, a couple of weeks after we did the wedding. That there was this one shot that really caught who he was and how they wanted to remember him. I have a close friend who is dealing with a very serious illness in the family. I won't go into details.

I wanted to ask all of you who read my blog. Please do me a favor and say a prayer for my friend. Send your good vibes their way. It humbles me to think about how fragile life really is. I don't share too much personal things on this blog. But, this time I thought it was important.
