John and Annie's wedding in SaratogaHotel Valencia and Villa
Montalvo. A great setting for a wedding. John and Annie told me that
they had searched the Bay Area for something different in their wedding
photography. John being a photo buff himself. knew exactly what he was looking
for. The day started with some getting ready and then went into some chinese
games. I mean there are some games that you play on the wedding day to see how
well the bride and groom know one another. John had to answer some questions
about Annie to even get into the room. If he missed any questions it was push
ups or even eating some cheese. And john is not a fan of cheese. One in the room
more games were played. So the day started with allot of fun. This would set the
tone for the rest of the wedding day. A beautiful setting and more important
really great clients.

More and more I am seeing guest come to weddings with great equipment, some even as good as mine. But, the one thing they can't duplicate is my style or vision. But you gotta understand that they are just excited as I am to create killer wedding photography. Well, here is a prime example about how I feel about it. Like I said john is a real photo buff and so were some of his friends. Everyone pretty much respected my space and knew that I was the lead photographer and I would tease and talk to them during the day. So I just embraced the fact that they were they there and we took this really fun shot together. Hey even John got in there for one. ![]() ![]() Here is a email from John and Annie after seeing the wedding online. Dear Gene, Annie and I can't stop looking at the photos! We interviewed a LOT of good photographers for the job but when we met you at the studio and saw your work and all those award-winning photos in person, we knew right away that you were the one. It was such an easy decision! As a serious photography hobbyist I know good work when I see it so believe me when I say that your photos ARE truly amazing, and you definitely live up to your motto, "Dare to be different!" Any pro can grab a few candids but you do them so beautifully! Just one example is the shot taken through the gate of Annie as she's sneaking a peak at the altar. When I first saw it I thought for sure it was posed, but Annie told me that it wasn't. Shots like that really exemplify your experience and your skill at capturing all the special moments, and you do it with such style! By the way, Annie keeps saying she's never seen me so handsome in pictures, so thank you for that! We can't wait for the prints to arrive. Many, many, many thanks!
